Following her record breaking video, “Hello,” Adele opens 25‘s debut week with 2.3 million in sales in the U.S., with the possibility of reaching up to 2.9 million before the week’s close.

25 is only the second album in history to sell over 2 million records in its first week, with NSYNC‘s No Strings Attached being the first. If Adele does, in fact, sell 2.9 million during the week ending in November 26th, she’ll break NSYNC’s first week sales record of 2.416 million sales in the week ending March 26, 2000.

Congratulations to Adele and her team! Pick up 25, in stores now.
