Apple Threatens TIDAL with $20 Million Lawsuit for Streaming Drake at Lil Weezyana Fest

The rivalry between streaming services TIDAL and Apple Music just got a little more real. According to Page Six, Apple Music wasn’t happy when Drake decided to perform at Lil Wayne‘s charity event, Lil Weezyana Fest, in Louisiana  on Friday night. Wayne sold exclusive streaming rights to TIDAL for the performance, which interferes with Drake’s exclusive deal with Apple Music. In response, Apple Music threatened the Jay-Z co-owned streaming service with a $20 million lawsuit if they streamed Drizzy’s two song performance.

Drake currently has a deal reportedly worth $19 million with Apple Music and helped the company launch their streaming service earlier this summer. Read more about the potential lawsuit here and check out some of TIDAL’s tweets following Apple’s loaded threat below.
